University Programming Board Mission: The University Programming Board (UPB) strives to create innovative events and programs for the campus community to experience the traditions and spirit of St. Edward’s University beyond the red doors. Students that apply for this position are dedicated to serving their peers.
All Board Members are required to:
- Attend Weekly Team meetings and Weekly meetings w. Supervisor.
- Hold weekly office hours.
- Assist in other event coordinator events (assigned once hired), including setup and cleanup.
- Being a part of UPB means you are a student leader and an employee of the Office of Student Involvement. Each board position is a full academic year commitment.
Eligibility:
All campus leaders are role models who are individually responsible, work well in a team dynamic environment, and are enthusiastic about our campus community.
- Applicants must be current SEU students who are planning to enroll at SEU for the Fall 2022 – Spring 2023 semesters.
- Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Applicants should possess strengths in organization, communication, initiative, and follow-through.
- Must be available Friday after 3 pm for meetings/events.
- Attend mandatory training sessions for 2 days (Late July-Early August).
- Possibly available August 1-August 15 to work in person. We will discuss this in the interview.
- Will be required to submit the Dean of Student Record Authorization Form.
General responsibilities for all Board Members:
All board members are responsible for the following duties, in addition to the specific tasks of the position, including but not limited to:
- Play a vital role in developing a lively and vibrant community on campus by contributing to the planning of campus events.
- Encourage students to attend and participate in UPB events.
- Maintain strong relationships with other campus offices by encouraging event collaboration to create an inclusive campus experience for all student populations.
- Make decisions regarding budget allocations for events.
- Maintain records of all activities, including attendance and financial expense reports.
- Perform office hours ranging from 4-8 hours per week and 4-8 hours coordinating event/event support.
- Operate with a clear understanding of the University’s mission, policies, and procedures.
- Attend training, retreats, and leadership programs.
Job Description(s):
Event Assistants (8 positions)
- Support University Programming Board Event Leads in executing programming events
- Assistant on day of events, such as Topper Nights, Hillfest, Casino Night, Welcome Days, etc
- Promotes university programming events
- Plans and executes UPB Pop Up Events in Suite 304 – 1 per semester
- Tabling at University Events
- Hours vary depending on the scheduling of events.
- Operate with a clear understanding of the University’s mission, policies, and procedures.
- Attend training, retreats, and leadership programs.
- Must be available Friday after 3 pm for meetings/events.
